Delete Matrix Items

Here is our recommended method to delete matrices (matrix items):

1. Create a temporary department and category that you are going to delete later
2. Ensure that the inventory items you are about to delete do not have stock
--- a. Inventory Center > Locate item > Stock Manager > Verify/Adjust > New Stock Quantity = 0
3. Select the matrix header and child items in the Inventory Center that you want to delete and move them to the newly created temporary department/category
--- a. Inventory Center > Tag items > Change Dept/Catg > Select the newly created temporary department/category > Process
4. Delete the newly created temporary category
--- a. Maintenance > Categories > Highlight newly created temporary category > Delete Highlighted > Delete All > OK > Check "Force Delete of Shared Items" option > Process
5. Purge Deleted Items
--- a. Inventory Center > Management > Deleted Items > Tag All > Check "Force Delete of Shared Items" > Purge Tagged > Yes
6. Run Verify Inventory Files

---Full Inventory Verify ---
1) If you are on a network, first exit everyone from PRM.
2) **MAKE A FULL BACKUP BEFORE YOU CONTINUE**
3) Go to Inventory Center > Actions > Verify Inventory > check Force Full Verification and un-check Verify Totals Only
4) Choose OK - the process will not start at this point until action is taken on the next screen
5) Click Process [F10] (Keeping all the other default settings)
This may take several hours, depending on the number of inventory items, transactions and etc.
