How To Waive A Finance Charge

HOW TO CREDIT A CUSTOMER FOR A FINANCE CHARGE
A finance charge is calculated from the Customer Term selected at the time of invoicing. If you choose to waive the finance charge, you create an offsetting store credit and apply the store credit towards that finance charge.

1) Go to the Customer List
2) Highlight the Customer
3) Choose AR Detail button at the right
4) Choose ADD
---- CREDIT
---- OPEN
---- SALES ID
---- TODAY'S DATE
---- AMOUNT = FINANCE CHARGE AMT
---- Leave Discount Taken and Paid fields blank
---- CHOOSE A TERM
---- COMMENT = Offset Finance Charge
-- Choose OK
5) Exit AR History screen
6) Choose TAKE PAYMENT button
7) Highlight the Finance Charge entry and press Enter.
8) You will be paying this off with the manually entered "Unapplied Credit" visible in the lower left corner.
9) Choose F10, Select OK, and when prompted to use Store Credit answer Yes.
