Problem:
Having problems getting PRM to work over a network. Can't connect to the database. Getting Error 202.

Solution:
1) Make sure the Native Client is installed on all computers including the server.
---http://msdn2.microsoft.com/en-us/data/aa937733.aspx > Get the SQL Native Client Redistributable Package > X86 Package (sqlncli.msi)

2) Make sure that your SQL Server is up-to-date. We recommend using Microsoft Update and making sure all updates including any optional updates are installed.

3) Did you install the SQL server using Mixed Mode Authentication? If not, uninstall and reinstall SQL server using Mixed Mode Authentication.

4) In the SQL Server 2005 Surface Area Configuration (From the SQL Server computer go to Start > All Programs > Microsoft SQL Server 2005 > Configuration Tools > SQL Server Surface Area Configuration.) Choose Surface Area Configuration for Services and Connections. Check the following settings:
---1) The Database Engine and the SQL Server Browser Services has been started and the startup is set to Automatic.
---2) The Remote Connections is selected to Local and remote connections > Using TCP/IP Only or Using TCP/IP and Named Pipes.

5) Make sure you have entered "sa" as the username, and you have entered the password you used when you setup the SQL server.

6) Make sure your database path is [computer name where the SQL server is installed] without the brackets. You may include a \SQLExpress (or SQL Instance name) if you installed SQL Server yourself. There should be NO preceding backslashes.

7) Make sure your Windows Firewall is turned off for the server and the workstation. (Or, make sure that all SQL data is allowed through the Windows Firewall.)
