Microsoft Native client is required on each computer that will run POSitive software (SQL Server Native Client is automatically installed on the server where SQL Server is installed). It helps facilitate communication between POSitive software and its SQL Server database. Previous versions of our software would not operate without the 2005 version of SQL Server Native Client. However, with security updates implemented in Windows operating systems in 2018, newer releases of POSitive software operate more efficiently with the latest version of SQL Server Native Client. This guide will give you the steps to uninstall SQL Server Native Client (2005) and install SQL Server 2012 Native Client in Windows 10 based operating systems.
