In PFW, you can choose to export your inventory by going to File: System: Export: Export Inventory. This creates a comma delimited file.
There will likely be problems trying to open that file with Excel. It seems that the leading zeroes are getting lost.

ANSWER
It is not the length of the UPC code but rather the way Excel mishandles the data.

After exporting inventory data from PFW, you should run Excel without opening the file.
While in Excel, go to Data: Import External Data (or something like that) and select the pfw exported file.

This will run a wizard. Be sure that when importing the SKU or BARCODE field you tell Excel to handle that column of data it as TEXT. If you do not, then Excel will erase leading and ending zeroes making the file unusable.
