We would like to begin tracking serial #'s for some items that are in stock (the inventory item was not originally set up to track serial #'s).
Can we go back and add them?
ANSWER: Yes. Edit the item and activate the option to track serial numbers on the Options tab.
The method for assigning serial numbers is to
1) go to the Inventory List.
2) highlight the inventory item
3) choose the Stock tab at the bottom of the screen
4) choose the Detail button
5) Choose Manage [F9] to add serial numbers. You can only enter the number of serial numbers for the number of items in stock.
(You may need to click the button Verify/Adjust which is at the bottom of the Stock tab so you can enter the proper number of serial numbers.)
