PFW was not designed to search on the phone number with older versions. The columns of the customer list can be sorted by clicking on the column title, but the phone field is an exception because it consists of two fields, an area code and phone.
You can export your customer list and do your searching and sorting with Excel. It is a simple process.
1) Go to File: System: Export: Export Customers.
2) Choose Do Not Apply A Query (however, this could serve some future purposes)
3) Move selected fields from the left to the right.
--- Customer ID (the account number)
--- Customer Company Name
--- Area Code Phone 1
--- Phone Number
--- Bill To Address Line 1
--- Bill To Address Line 2
--- Bill To City
--- Bill To State
--- Bill To Zip
-------- and any other fields which you would like.
4) Checkmark "Include Header Record With Field Names"
5) Choose OK
6) In the Export File window, enter a name for the file with the extension .csv. Most likely the file will be saved in the c:\pfw directory but you can change the location to a directory of your choosing.
7) Choose OK - Processing will be done.
Now, run Excel
1) open Excel
2) open the file you created
3) you will be able to sort the list by any column. For example sort 1) on Area Code and 2) then by phone.
