How To Change Dept/Category Assignments
Question:
I have decided I want to change they way I have organized my departments and categories; totally eliminating some categories and creating others. How can I best do this.
Answer:
There is a procedure for moving inventory and invoice history of inventory items previously sold under a different category.
1) Create all the new departments and categories you want.
2) find and tag all the items to be reassigned to the new category
3) choose Change/Dept Catg (under Actions on PRM; on the General tab of PFW)
4) you will be prompted to select the correct category
5) then activate RE-ASSIGN INVOICE HISTORY TO MATCH THE NEW DEPARTMENT/CATEGORY
6) choose process
