If your vendor sends you a new price list or catalog you will want to
- correct your last cost and selling prices of your inventory
- correct the vendor cost of the item
- print replacement labels for existing stock
- document changes made
One could manually edit each inventory item and change the cost and the selling prices. But a better solution could be to work from the Inventory Labels List. Not only are you adjusting cost and prices but you are already primed to reprint labels.
Advance Setup
- Go to Inventory: Print Inventory Labels.
- If there are labels already in the list, either print them or purge the list.
- Select the Processed tab and purge this list as well. It is best to start with a clean list so you can keep better track of what is being done.
- For printing a document of inventory price changes you will need to create a customized \"label\". (see Special Label below)
Changing Cost And Price(s) Of Inventory Items
On the Inventory Labels List, make sure the list is blank.
1) Choose the Add button at the right (next to Purge List button).
2) Enter the SKU, a quantity of 1, and choose OK
3) On the Inventory Labels List, select Item Properties [F4]
4) Change the Last Order Cost and the Selling Price(s) Tip: the Recalc button will set pricing based on margins defined by the category.
5) Rightmouseclick any where on the Inventory Detail screen and choose Vendors. Choose Edit and enter the vendor cost.
6) Close screens until you get back to the Inventory Labels List.
7) REPEAT these steps for each inventory item to be changed.
Print Replacement Labels For Existing Stock
1) Choose Tag All. This places a checkmark on each item in the list
2) Choose the Edit button at the right (next to Purge List button). This opens the Bulk Label Change screen.
3) Select \"Set To In-Stock Quantities\" and choose OK to return to the Inventory Labels List.
4) Choose Print Labels [F7] and follow you normal procedure. Note: if your inventory uses a mixture of label sizes, tag only one label size at time for printing.
Document Price Changes Made
By printing the same list of labels to a specialized label form, you can print a \"report\" of items changed. This requires a one-time advanced setup of defining a special label layout. (see Special Label below)
Once all replacement labels have been printed...
1) Go to the Processed tab.
2) Choose Tag All.
3) Choose Returned Tagged To Active
4) Choose Tag All
5) Choose the Edit button at the right (next to Purge List button). This opens the Bulk Label Change screen.
6) Select \"Set To Fixed Quantity\" and enter a Fixed Quantity = 1
7) Activate \"Change Label Type\" and choose the Price Changes Report label.
(see Special Label below)
8) Choose Print Labels [F7]. This will print the full page report of all items with new prices. This can be filed away or shared with others.
Special Label Setup
You may design a \"label\" with Inventory Label Editor to print each inventory item as a line item on a sheet of plain paper.
More precise details are available in the manual, in the help file, or in documentation on the website.
Go to File: Editors: Inventory Label Editor
Create a new label by choosing to Edit an \"Undefined\" Label.
Call it Price Changes
Follow the prompts in the Wizard, skipping most prompts until you come to the page layout.
----------------Horizontal --------- Vertical
--- Offset ------ 0.000 -------------- 0.000
--- Size -------- 8.000 -------------- 0.200
--- Distance -- 0.000 -------------- 0.000
--- Number --- 1 -------------------- 50
Add the following label elements in one row across the screen. SKU, Description, Price 1, Price 2, etc.
Save the label.
Note: much can be done to add a title, to change fonts, and add other pertinent information. Please refer to other documentation for those details.
