After importing inventory, the cost and price is not there even though the I had linked those fields properly.
ANSWER: most likely your source file (an excel file) is using Currency type on the cost and price fields which displays a dollar sign which PFW cannot read.
Solution: change the cost and price columns in excel to use number format instead of currency format
