Matrix Inventory - Problem Solving

We are a clothing store. Initially we had chosen to assign a separate SKU # to garments by size-color. Later we learned we could/should have created a matrix for the garment.

So we created matrix inventory and ended up with some garments with 2 different SKU#s.

We chose to delete the old sku, assign it's stock count to new matrix sku. In the process of deleting the old SKU we lost sales history on that old SKU.

ANSWER
Yes, it is likely that history was lost, but unless data has been corrupted it might be regained through a process of Find/Replace of the "INVNO" numbers.

This is only one possible solution and could prove to be a lot of work, so you need to contact POSitive Support to determine feasibility or even the correct solution and whether or not it is worth the effort.

The key is to identify the "INVNO" of the old sku which will still be in invoices.tps subfile pinvdet, and the "INVNO" of the new sku. Then, in PINVDET file, do a find and replace of the old with the new. Invoice history will be recovered.

This is a tedious process and you need to decide if the effort will be worth it. We can train you in how to do it by going through the steps on a few of them.

NOTE: This is not something which is normally covered by a support agreement. A fee will likely be charged for this service.
