Question: I have just add the Commission's module to PFW. How do I get started?
Answer: Not only is it important that System Setup be activated to track commissions, the inventory items must be flagged for tracking commission as well. If this was not done at the outset, it can be done 1) globally on all existing inventory items and 2) steps should be taken to automate commission tracking for newly added items.
1) Go to Utilities: Category Defaults and edit MASTER.
* Enter a commission percentage. (The manual explains various ways to handle a percentage entry.
* Choose the Reset Inventory [F5] button
* Checkmark the Commission entry. (only items checkmarked will be updated at this time)
* Choose Process [F10) Answering Yes reset ALL inventory items.
* When it is done, then you can close these screens.
2) To assure that future inventory additions will automatically track commissions, go to Utilities: Categories.
* Highlight the first Category and choose Defaults [F5] in the lower left corner.
* Set the commission percentage
* Close the screen
* REPEAT the process for each existing category. (Future new categories will have the setting already.)
