I am using the PFW Checkbook, but I never see an entry for my bank deposit. I am balancing the cash drawer every day, so it says how much I am depositing. And I have looked in the Journal Entry Screen (Accounting: General Ledger: Add/Edit/Post Transactions) but it never shows up properly. What am I doing wrong?
ANSWER
By design, PFW does not automatically update your checkbook account when you balance the checkbook. For each day's deposits, you need to manualy enter a DEP transaction into the checkbook.
Why isn't it automatic?
We do not want to restrict your rights to handle your monies the way you want to. You may have multiple bank accounts and may choose to split the deposits for the day into various accounts.
