If you are in an invoice and want to take one item from invoice and put it on layaway, is this possible? Or converting the whole invoice to a layaway?
ANSWER
PFW has two main tools for handling this.
HOLD BACK - Alt-H
(Note: This requires use of Professional Edition. Allow Backorders On Invoice must be activated in System Setup: Invoice Setup)
While highlighting an item, press ALT-H. This will force the item into backorder status. When you process the invoice, you will be notified that backorders exist and you should choose Create Order. (This is not a layaway, but an order and you must have the Order Module for this to work.)
HOLD INVOICE AS - The easiest method is to save the invoice as a Layaway and then use Partial Delivery of item to be delivered now.
While still editing the invoice...
1) Choose the [Esc] Menu
2) Select Hold Invoice As and choose Layaway or Order. (Note: the invoice must have a customer name assigned to it.)
3) Select a Delivery Date
4) You will be notified of the new Layaway or Order Number.
5) Go to the Layaways In Process List
6) Highlight the Layaway
7) Choose the Partial Delivery button. (Note: only items which are in stock will be available for immediate delivery.)
8) Choose Convert To Invoice YES.
9) Process the invoice.
The items not delivered are still listed on the layaway.
