QUESTION: The matrix works fine at creating many color/size inventory items, but larger sizes cost more and hence sell for more. How can I change cost and price of only some of the matrix items?
SHORT ANSWER
For any given matrix you can change individual items to reflect a different cost and selling price than other matrix items.
1) Go to Inventory Center
2) Highlight a matrix header and choose Edit
3) Choose the COST option under Properties at the far right.
4) Highlight a single cell in the Size 17/18 column, for example, and press Enter. Type the new cost and press Enter. When you change the cost value, you should be able to change selling prices. (At the bottom of the screen make sure "Auto-Confirm Pricing" is checkmarked.)
5) Repeat the process for each item needing a cost/price change.
LONG ANSWER
I suspect you have MANY inventory items needing such corrections. A better way is to export inventory to an Excel spreadsheet, make corrections to cost and price, and then import those changes to automatically update all items in just a few seconds.
