Please do not use a negative quantity on a purchase order. Attempting to adjust stock counts based on a negative value in a PO is problematic and not the recommended procedure.
1) Sometimes a vendor will offer the retail store a discount on the PO. For example, if the retail store purchases over $500.00 worth of product the vendor will offer 10% off.
NEW VERSION 2004.2 FEATURE (as of April 12)
With the next release of PFW, there is a DISCOUNT (CTRL-D) button in the purchase order screen for entering a Dollar Off value on the PO.
2) Some inventory can have an expiration date. This inventory needs to be removed from the shelf and stock counts and receive vendor credits.
HOW TO REMOVE EXPIRED PRODUCT
1) Go to the RMA Center
2) Choose "Process Other Return."
3) Follow the steps through the Wizard and select the expired products. Choose to Return For Credit. Add as many products as you wish, then process the RMA. This will properly reduce stock counts and credit your AP as well as document changes in the Transaction Log.
