When scanning an item if the inventory list comes up this means that the item has not been entered into the inventory and needs to be. If in the inventory list and you scan the item again, a random item from you inventory list. I would suggest using the fast add option (must be turned on in Station Settings: Invoice\\Misc: Inventory tab). This will allow you to add inventory on the fly but you must go back into the inventory list later and assign this item to dept\\catagory and vendor.
